Rotten

For my high school graduation Capstone, I chose to create my own stop-motion animation. I worked on this project over the span of a couple of months, documenting my process, speaking to a mentor, and then presenting to a panel. It became the most challenging thing i had undertaken at that point, as I had never done anything like it. This is what pushed me to pursue film, I realized how enchanting it can be and how much is put into it. To me, this film is more than just what's on the surface. It always felt like my childhood and my innocence was stolen from me, as if I was put under a deep spell to one day awake and find it gone. Left with only remains, memories, and nostalgia. Mourning the death of the unicorn inside of me, searching for it everywhere, praying it will come back to me. But it doesn't, and I am stuck wearing a mask.
